Ellie is a freelance illustrator and muralist based in North London. Ellie focuses on creating works that pull from historical fact or folkloric tales, local environments, nature and creatures – real or imagined – weaving narratives to showcase the vibrancy of a place in time. This design was inspired by the Haringey Coat of Arms.
The Hares represent the name of the borough as it is believed that Haringey means “A Meadow of Hares”. Ellie has included British flora, the motto of Haringey “Progress with Humanity” and its Demi sun which represented a new borough – the union of Hornsey, Wood Green and Tottenham in 1965. The demi cogwheel represents industry.
Grand Auction
