This Summer a group of Ark Pioneer Academy students worked together as part of their school’s enrichment programme to develop ideas for their owl. The group’s ideas were bold, confronting the challenging nature of the North London Hospice’s work directly with humour and energy. Their initial drawings included many notable features such as the Ark Pioneer school uniform, glowing robotic eyes, an ostentatious ‘doomsday’ timepiece, and the ghosts of many small field mice. Rather than exclude any individual contributions, the group decided to throw them all together into one very ambitious design. The resulting piece of work was varnished by their teacher and delivered to the hospice late one balmy Summer evening. The students enjoyed their experience and were proud to honour the hospice and its important mission.
Grand Auction
Did you know that at the end of the trail all of the large owl sculptures are auctioned to raise money for North London Hospice? The smaller owls – our owlets – are returned to their forever homes with their school or community group.
